Holidays on the North Sea stand for salt water, iodine-charged air, a healthy climate and the Wadden Sea, today on the UNESCO natural world heritage list. Here you feel an invigorating freshness which blows the cobwebs out of the head and the lungs. The endless expanse of the landscape, constantly changing fields and the peace and quiet also make their contribution. The picturesque Hebbelstadt Wesselburen has many surprises with friendly squares and pretty houses. Enjoy the atmospheric flair around the market place. Treat yourself to a break in the magnificent Baroque church with its onion dome. Call in to the beautiful "Dichterhaus" (poet's house), which is dedicated to the dramatist and poet Friedrich Hebbel in the historic parish bailiwick. Albersdorf is a charming climatic resort on the Kiel Canal. The thatched community centre dates back to 1695 and, apart from the church of St. Remigius, is the oldest building in the village. The art centre is located in the house and it offers a forum for many events. One outstanding feature is the Stone-Age Park, where on a large open-air site, a prehistoric cultural landscape is being recreated to represent the era around 3,000 B.C.
